Hello my crafty friends! Last night I started working on my art journal books. I always like to work on my backgrounds first, then come back in a few days and finish my journal. So this is about backgrounds techniques.
I stated out prepping my pages with white gesso. Used Daler Rowney acrylic gesso. Then I pick my colors to used. On this background I pick Tim Holtz Adirondack color wash spray stream, distress oxides salty ocean, peacock feather and mermaid Lagoon.
First I spray with Tim Holtz Adirondack color wash spray and add water to move the color around on my pages. Dry with a heat gun.
Stencil I used is called wave to me stencil by Heffy Doodle.
After I used the heat gun to dry the pages. I took a paint brush with just water and splattered it on my pages, then tap dry with a paper towel to create water spots.
Here I took Tim Holtz round sponge with only water on it and created circles. Heat set and took again TH Adirondack color wash stream and blend in the middle of my circles. This technique gives it a look like dimensions on the pages. Thank you for checking out my blog. simplycraftydesigns.com By Annalicia Spannaus
