Working on Backgrounds with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide

Hello my friends! Today I decided to start working on my background for my Christmas cards. Using Tim Holtz distress oxide, which are one of my favorite products to use. I wanted to keep it simple but yet pretty. I did four backgrounds using Strathmore Mixed Media paper vellum surface 6 in. x 8 in. and two different paste. I figured I can get eight cards out of my backgrounds. I’ll list what I used bellow.

Here I blended Tim Holtz Distress Oxide broken china, mermaid lagoon and chipped sapphire. Then add water drops and pat dry with a paper towel.

Here I used Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Stencil with Faber Castell Whipped Spackle paste. Let dry for 30 minutes.

Then took the snowflake Stencil again with Tim Holtz Distress Ink picket fence blended it into the background.

Here I used the second paste by Faber Castell called Glass Bead Glitter Gel, which gave it a pretty look. I’m loving the way the backgrounds look.

Thank you for checking out my blog. I’ll be posting my cards soon. And I would like to say “Thank you Veterans” to my family, friends and all for your service. We our truly blessed to have freedom in our lives.

Merry Christmas Moose 2018 Card

Hello my friends! I’m reposting this card I did in 2018. It was a popular card I made last year and even this year. So thank you to everyone who really likes this card. As you can see here this is all the products I used for this card.

When I’m making a card I always get everything out that I’m going to use first. I like to keep everything simple. I cut everything out with my Tim Holtz Vagabond 2 Machine.

Then I lay everything out in front of me. The background paper I used here is Recollection Card stock call Starry Night. I don’t have anymore in stock but you can used any background.

I used Impression Obsession die Merry Christmas, Tim Holtz Merry Moose, Woodlands and Home for the Holidays Thinlits. Cards stocks are TH metallic kraft stock, Classic and Metallic Jewels.

Here I used DCWV Corrugated Neutrals Stack and TH Home for the Holidays Thinlits to make the hill. Then took TH Distress Grit-paste and cover the corrugate paper. Let dry for 30 to 40 minutes.

Then started to put my card together. I did sand a bit on my Moose body to give it a little distress look. Thank you again everyone for for you wonderful comments on my site. Have a bless day!
